Client Spotlight: Visit York County, SC
This week’s client spotlight highlights Visit York County, SC’s Brianna Francis. Brianna has been with Visit York County for two and a half years, and couldn’t be more thrilled to be where she’s at after switching careers from TV news. Originally from Northern Indiana, Brianna moved to South Carolina nine years ago and now resides in Fort Mill.
Brianna’s favorite place to be while traveling is the beach. “Give me a beach chair and some sand to dig my toes into and I’m happy!,’ said Francis. “I’ll take any piece of ocean view I can get.”
Besides traveling outside of work, Brianna enjoys exploring hiking trails, learning about historic locations or tracking down a new place to eat.
When asked what her favorite thing about promoting York County is, she says it’s the storytelling aspect. “I love being able to share stories that help our small business thrive.”
The most important thing Brianna learned in 2020? To PIVOT. “In all seriousness, I think 2020 proved that while our job is recruiting visitors, our home base, our locals should also be a strong focus,” Francis said. “Without their support we couldn’t survive.”

At Advance Travel & Tourism, we believe the best partnerships start with understanding the realities destination organizations face every day. That’s one of the many reasons we’re excited to welcome Thomas Salley to the team as our newest Account Executive.

Visibility used to follow a familiar pattern: search, rankings, clicks, visits. That structure is starting to shift. AI doesn’t just retrieve pages. It assembles responses. Instead of presenting a list of links, it’s interpreting information and building answers. That changes how destinations appear—and whether they appear at all. Being present online is no longer the only requirement.

Clarity is starting to play a different role. Not just in messaging—but in visibility. As AI systems interpret and assemble information, they favor content that’s easy to understand and easy to use. That creates a subtle shift. Destinations compete on clarity and speed—who makes sense fastest gets the decision.
